About

Aid Camp is an event to get people started with giving micro-loans to entrepreneurs in poor countries.

The Goal:

  • Give people an understanding of micro-loans.
  • Show and teach people exactly how to give micro-loans by walking them through the KIVA.org site.
  • Our goal for 2010 is to provide $2,500 in micro-loans for KIVA.org.

What happens at the event:

  1. Brief explanation of micro-loans.
  2. The entire group, laptops-in-hand, signs up to loan $25 each or more through KIVA, a non-profit micro-loan organization.
  3. We then showcase 5 recommended stories of entrepreneurs in need from developing countries, to whom group members may want to loan money.
  4. We then take questions and comments for and against each of the 5.
  5. The audience then chooses who we want to invest in.

See the Date & Location page for where it is happening.
