About
Aid Camp is an event to get people started with giving micro-loans to entrepreneurs in poor countries.
The Goal:
- Give people an understanding of micro-loans.
- Show and teach people exactly how to give micro-loans by walking them through the KIVA.org site.
- Our goal for 2010 is to provide $2,500 in micro-loans for KIVA.org.
What happens at the event:
- Brief explanation of micro-loans.
- The entire group, laptops-in-hand, signs up to loan $25 each or more through KIVA, a non-profit micro-loan organization.
- We then showcase 5 recommended stories of entrepreneurs in need from developing countries, to whom group members may want to loan money.
- We then take questions and comments for and against each of the 5.
- The audience then chooses who we want to invest in.
See the Date & Location page for where it is happening.
